Resting in the sunshine

A mourning cloak butterfly (Nymphalis antiopa) rests in the sunshine on a rock next to the Arkansas River Thursday. The mourning cloak is one of the longest-lived butterflies with a life span of about a year, according to Colorado State University College of Agricultural Sciences.
