Food, goodies await delivery

Packages of food and other goodies await delivery to local seniors Thursday at Salida Community Center. Ark Valley Helping Hands and Salida Community Center teamed up and received a joint grant of $15,000 to buy food for seniors each entity serves, as a holiday gift. Each delivery included pasta, marinara sauce, cheese, antipasto and several pounds of meat, including hamburger, bacon, breakfast sausage and chuck roast. Food was purchased at Colorado Proud store Scanga Meat as a condition of the grant. From left: Alisa Yablonski, Elaine Allemang and Sara Ward.
