U.S. stocks finished down slightly Thursday, with changes barely over 1 percent.

All sectors ended down, with energy and materials leading. 

U.S. Treasury yields fell as investors move toward bonds.

Volume on the New York Stock Exchange was high, with more than 1 billion shares traded. Decliners outnumbered advancers.

Gold was up today $3.75 to $1,880.27 and silver fell $.01 to $24.29. 

Crude oil prices fell $.46 to $40.66 a barrel.

The 30-year Treasury yield closed lower at 1.64 percent, and the 10-year Treasury yield finished lower at 0.88 percent.
