Wilcox achieves Eagle Scout

Elijah Wilcox, a Salida High School junior, pins an “Eagle Scout Mom” pin on his mother, Sara Wilcox, during his outdoor Eagle Scout ceremony. Wilcox earned his Eagle Scout nine months ago but the official ceremony was postponed due to the pandemic. Wilcox gave advice to the scouts in attendance: “Jump in and go for it, have a great time with your friends in the outdoors and you’ll be camping and exploring in amazing places you probably never thought of going.” Salida Troop 60 Scouts meet at 6 p.m. Monday nights at the American Legion Hut at 10th and I streets.
