Suspects

James Brent Damon and Georgie Louis Damon

Chaffee County Sheriff identified two suspects believed responsible for breaking into parked cars on Jan. 24 and 31 on the Old Monarch Pass area near U.S. 50.

James Brent Damon, 46, and Georgie Louise Damon, 43, also known as Georgie Louise Hand, have nationwide warrants out of Mississippi, according to a press release. The sheriff is in the process of seeking felony arrest warrants for both suspects.

Sheriff John Spezze said a sting operation was conducted Saturday but was unsuccessful.

Items such as electronics, credit cards and ski equipment have been stolen out of seven burglarized vehicles.

Detectives identified the suspects using surveillance footage after they began to pawn stolen items taken from the vehicles.

Both have extensive criminal histories, Spezze wrote in the press release.

The suspects are believed to be driving a 1998 white Ford Explorer with an unknown license number.

Anyone with information about these crimes may call 539-2596.
