Jim and Ellen McCormick of Salida will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Sept. 6, 2016.
They were married Sept. 1, 1951, in Fowler.
Mrs. McCormick is a retired bookkeeper for the family businesses and a homemaker.
Mr. McCormick was a small business owner of United Construction, UBD and McCormick Auto & Rents.
He served on Salida City Council and the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District.
Both are active members of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension.
They have lived in Salida for the last 58 years, and friends and family said they have loved the town and enjoyed making a difference.
The McCormicks have four daughters, Ginger Soderlund of Denver, Janet (Mark) Hanley of Kirksville, Mo., Jody (Cary) Gloor of Salida and Jill Erbsen.
They have nine grandchildren, Kyle and Eric Soderlund, Matt (Kelly) Hanley and Kelly (Jeff) Heim, Colleen (Jarrod) Murray and Christina (Christer) Sonheim, and Andy, Sarah and Tim Gloor; and nine great-grandchildren, Lucy, Natalie and Sadie Heim, Liam, Ethan and Ellie Sonheim, and Olivia, Sam and Jillian Murray.
The McCormicks will celebrate the occasion with family.
