Lois and John Martinez will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary July 12, 2018.

The couple was married by the Rev. Marvin Kapushion at 9 a.m. July 12, 1958, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salida.

The ceremony was attended by 150 guests.

After the wedding ceremony a breakfast reception took place at Neil’s Café, now Mama D’s Restaurant.

The celebration continued at Costello’s Tavern, the present site of High Country Bank, where there was a sit-down wedding dinner and dance with the Ernie Kimberlin Band.

The couple owned and operated Martinez Trash Co. from 1958 until they retired in 1996, when they sold their company to Waste Management.

Mr. and Mrs. Martinez enjoy traveling and spending time with their family.

The Martinezes have four children, Valarie (Walter) Martinez, Curtiss Martinez, Scott (Cindy) Martinez and Adrienne (Jim) Weber.

They have six grandchildren, two step-granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

The family invites friends to send cards with a story about the couple or old photographs to 326 Palmer St. in Salida, to help the couple celebrate.
