The National Weather Service long-range forecast calls for seasonable temperatures and above-normal precipitation during July for southwestern to south central Colorado, including Chaffee County.
Meryl Tolsma of The Alliance recently announced the start of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program in Chaffee County.
Tolsma, who is the Chaffee County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) coordinator, said at this point five local nurses have volunteered to train for the program, and one of them has already finished the training.
The program provides a SANE to examine a sexual assault survivor and collect evidence.
