Dear Editor:

Rok Skool’s fourth annual SunFest, a free youth music festival, was held from 5 to 10 p.m. May 25, the last day of school, in Riverside Park.

This all-ages concert featured five of the region’s best youth rock bands: Riley, Highwater, Miss Match and Rogue with special guests Lily and Gray and the Salida Circus.

This event was presented free to celebrate the beginning of the kids’ summer break and was the best attended yet. Hundreds of kids and adults enjoyed the remarkable talent that Salida’s youth has to offer.

This free concert was made possible only through the generous support of our community-minded local sponsors: Heart of the Rockies Radio, Don’t Go Nuts, Amicas Pizza, Pinon Real Estate Group, Upper Arkansas Service Club, Fun Street Family Arcade, Peak Solar Designs, Mike’s Garage, Rebound Physical Therapy, Su Casa Furniture and Sleep Shop, First Street Flooring on Third, Salida Family Dentistry and High Country Bank. Thank you.

Thanks also to all the kids and their supportive parents for making this year’s offering the best SunFest yet.

See you next year!

Trevor “Bones” Davis, director,
