Mary Isabelle Wooden, 89, died June 12, 2019, in Bentonville, Arkansas.

She was born Oct. 26, 1929, near Crestone to Mary Felice and Edward Foster King.

She graduated from Moffat High School and married Kenneth Leroy Wooden.

The couple and their only child eventually settled in Uravan, where they lived the majority of their working career.

Mrs. Wooden retired Nov. 24, 1986, from the U.S. Postal Service after Uravan’s mining and milling operations ceased in December 1986.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jack, Bob and Jim; sisters Emily King Goehl and Pauline King Coombs; and her husband, who died May 22, 2005.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Lee (Cindy) Wooden of Rogers, Arkansas; grandsons, Timothy Lee (Feeby)Wooden of Vista, California, and Zachary Andrew Wooden of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; great-grandchildren, Makayla Isabelle Wooden and Nathaniel James Wooden; sisters Joe Benson of Salida, Tess Carpenter of Monte Vista, Edna (Harold) Bennett of Moffat and Carol (John) Fear of Salida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her graveside services will be at 11 a.m. June 17, 2019, at Crestone Cemetery in Crestone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any cancer cure or Alzheimer’s cure program of the giver’s choice.

Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida.
