Former Salida resident Terry Lynn Montoya, 56, died of a brain aneurysm Oct. 1, 2012, at St. Anthony Hospital in Denver.

She was born Jan. 15, 1956, in Denver.

Mrs. Montoya and her husband, Hank A. Montoya, lived in Salida from 1990 to 1999, before moving to Chama County.

The couple liked to travel and spent some winters in Yuma, Ariz., and Mexico.

Mrs. Montoya enjoyed fishing, camping with family and spending time with friends.

She was involved in ministry at Grace Chapel in San Luis County, where she taught, sang and preached to church groups.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Romero.

Survivors include her husband; children, Chrystal (Sean) Wayman Campos, Christal (Joshua) Montoya Means and Hank Montoya Jr.; parents, Hendy (Frank) Torrez and Edward (Veronica) Romero; parents-in-law, Henry and Nellie Montoya; brothers, Edward and Berry Romero; and grandchildren, Dejia, Sean Jr., Corrine, David, Nathaniel, Chianne, Asilinn and Enrique.

A service will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 4, 2012, at New Hope Church at Sheridan and Kentucky avenues in Denver.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 5, 2012, at Pathway Assembly of God Church in Brighton, followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton and a reception at the Brighton Recreation Center.
