Kenneth Edward Coonfield, 70, of Statesville, N.C., formerly of Salida, died Feb. 2, 2012, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

He was born March 24, 1941, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Kenneth A. Coonfield and Maxine Stroud Coonfield.

Mr. Coonfield graduated from Bartlesville schools and married Lois Vermillion May 8, 1964.

Mr. Coonfield and his family lived 29 years in the Swissvale and Salida areas where they owned and operated Treasure Chest Antiques.

He attended Fairview Baptist Church in Statesville and was self-employed as a freelance writer, antique dealer and a racing crew chief.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patty Keaton.

Survivors include his wife; son, Dustin Coonfield of Statesville; and brother, Bill Coonfield of Palm Coast, Fla.

Graveside services were Feb. 4, 2012, at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesville.

Memorial donations may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
