On the eve of a two-day jury trial, Leslie Ordaz pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of distribution of a controlled substance, a third-class felony, before 11th Judicial District Chief Judge Patrick Murphy.

Similar charges in a second case against Ordaz, scheduled for trial May 13-14, were dismissed in exchange for the plea, and the trial dates were vacated.

Ordaz remains in custody.

Murphy ordered a presentencing investigation and a community corrections screen prior to sentencing, which is set for 1:30 p.m. June 6.
