The Salida Historic Preservation Commission is one city council vote away from having its decision-making powers restored, and that vote is scheduled for Tuesday, after a public hearing.
Another public hearing, on the city’s cable television agreement with Charter Communications, is also scheduled for the meeting, which starts at 6 p.m. in council chambers at the Touber Building, 448 E. First St.
Council is scheduled to consider two resolutions Tuesday, one concerning the Colorado Firefighter Heart and Cancer Benefits Trust and one to enter into a professional services agreement for a downtown parking study.
Council will meet for a work session at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers, where Councilwoman Cheryl Brown-Kovacic and Community Development Director Glen van Nimwegen will give a presentation on their recent trip to Japan to visit Salida’s newest sister city, Higashinaruse Village.
Three other presentations are planned for Monday. Rachel Pokrandt will present a Colorado Mountain College feasibility study, Brian Beaulieu will present on the Boys & Girls Club, and Read McCulloch will speak about the Chaffee Housing Trust.
