Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder Joyce Reno said of those bills, 20 pertain to motor vehicles, five to recording and real estate transactions, 16 to elections and one to general conduct.
She reminded Chaffee County residents, there will be an increase in motor vehicle registration fees effective July 1.
The increase is based upon weight of the vehicle. Average cost will be an about $32 for the first year. The increase will be shown on the registration-ownership tax receipt as a road fee and bridge fee.
Legislators imposed a mandatory late fee which became effective June 1. This fee of $25 for the first month (or a portion) after the one month grace period and $25 for each additional month (or portion) up to a maximum of $100, will be collected at time of registration.
That fee will be in addition to registration costs.
Additional motor vehicle registration increases were mandated for registration fees due.
There's an increase from 25 cents to 60 cents to the peace officers standards and training board and an increase from $1 to $2 to fund emergency medical services.
There will be three new types of license plates available beginning in August. All will require added fees.
Those plates are Alive at Twenty-Five, Donate Life and Colorado Ski Country. People may contact the Chaffee County Clerk's office for information about the plates.
Beginning in October people with breast cancer license plates have an option to pay a $25 surcharge to provide for cancer treatment for women who are not eligible to participate in the breast and cervical cancer prevention.
That will be optional only until 2012 after which it will be a mandatory fee.
Drivers with this type license plate will receive a data mailer for renewal instead of a postcard in the mail.
Also effective July 1, the cost of marriage licenses will be $30, an increase of $20.
The additional amount will be used to support domestic abuse, support services and allocation of a portion to assist military personnel and their families.
Reno said, "As the coordinated Nov. 3 election approaches, I will explain changes in election law.
"As always, if there are any questions, please feel free to contact me at 530-5600 or my office at 539-4004."
