Starpoint meets highest state standards for infants

For the second consecutive year, Starpoint reached the highest level of achievement for early intervention programs in Colorado.
The non-profit organization established in 1977 serves infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities in Chaffee, Custer and Fremont counties.
Last month the Colorado Department of Human Services recognized Starpoint as one of three community centered boards in the state to meet the highest requirements for work with infants from birth to 3 years old.
"I want to congratulate Starpoint on its second year of reaching the meets requirements status regarding early intervention services," Karen Eye, executive director of human services for the Colorado Department of Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities, said.
"I would like to compliment your agency and staff members on their exemplary work."
Roger Jensen, Starpoint executive director, said, "We're very proud of our staff for meeting these requirements. Last year we were the only community center board to achieve this.
"This year we're one of only three. We've always been a leader in early childhood services and this is another example of the hard work and dedication of our staff."
