Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials will offer the annual hunter education course at Chaffee County Fairgrounds from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 24-28.

Cost for the class is $7.

Kim Woodruff, wildlife officer, said participants will learn firearm safety, outdoor survival, wildlife conservation, and laws and regulations pertaining to hunting.

Woodruff said the class is a requirement for anyone wishing to hunt legally in Colorado.

Parks and Wildlife offers hunter education classes in the spring and the fall.

Preregistration is not required.

Following the course will be a shoot Sept. 26 at the county shooting range.
