Two Salida High School girls’ soccer players landed on the 3A All-State team after guiding the Lady Spartans this spring.

Center-mid senior Laura Pelino made the All-State second team while senior goalkeeper Addison Bright received an All-State honorable mention.

Pelino, who will play for Western Colorado University next year, scored 24 goals and assisted 14 more to lead the Lady Spartans.

Bright made 67 saves and helped Salida shut out nine teams this past season.

Salida went 13-3-1 and reached the second round of the 3A state tournament.

Other athletes from the area also received All-State honors for soccer and baseball.

Buena Vista freshman soccer player Jamison Litvay received a 3A All-State honorable mention

Demon baseball players Isaiah Martinez and Andy Limoncelli both received All-State honorable mentions for Class 3A.

In 1A baseball, Cotopaxi’s Chance Gulliford was named to the All-State first team, while teammates Levi Barr and Frank Ogden received honorable mentions.

No Spartan baseball players or girls’ golfers were honored. Coaches and the leagues selected the All-State soccer and baseball teams while the golf team was based solely on the players’ results at the state tournament.
